THIS YEAR THE RUSSIAN MUSEUM IN ST. PETERSBURG CELEBRATES ITS 125th ANNIVERSARY
The collection of the Russian Museum includes about 400 thousand exhibits. It covers all historical periods, types and genres of Russian art, its main directions and schools from the X to the XXI century.
One of the large-scale events of the anniversary year will be the exhibition “Alexander III: Emperor and collector” in Mikhailovsky castle (from February 12 to may 10, 2020). The exhibition is dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the “Emperor-peacemaker”, thanks to which the Russian Museum was created.
There will also be exhibitions: in honor of the 75th anniversary of the great Victory (April 30-June 30, 2020), where works by Soviet and Russian artists will be presented; and an exhibition for the 150th anniversary of Alexander Benoit (April-July 2020).
